Dean Sullivan's flickr

Dean Sullivan's dark and dramitic line work harkens all the way back to such notable historical figures as Giuseppe Arcimboldo and Hieronymus Bosch. Like these figures, Dean Sullivan's work ranges from detailed scapes to portraiture. Combining those figures with an oeuvre of fantasy, teen angst, and dark metal, Dean Sullivan present's work that is shocking in it's complication and committal to line-work. Large piles and dark figures swirl together in a field of information, penis' noses, torture, eyes, and devil horn's.

September
Max Eisenberg--Selected Works

Opening Date Sept. 5th, 2008
runs until Oct 1st.

The Church of Crystal Light is pleased to present our first artist, Max Eisenberg. Max Eisenberg is an artist in the hardest, truest, jail-frequenting, westside, gangster sucking slime stinkline sense of the word. The work entangles hard-up-for-cash-chicken-joint culture with honest pencil lines, true draftsmanship, and a heady journalistic look at trash culture and portraiture. A true image of the artist's home in the swamps and slums of West Baltimore, Md.

As a musician Max first started out in Free Jazz, steeping for years as a young disciple to St. Louis's reed master Dave Stone. Max left St. Louis to perform solo guerilla free noise as PrariePusher, opening 22 shows for the ledgendary French absurdist Costes. 2003-2005 saw him as a member of scum electronic noise hero's Nautical Almanac. You can currently catch him touring the country spouting his own twisted noise version of gangster rap as Dj Dog Dick.

You can delve deeper into Max's work on his website...oceansofmissouri.com
